Career Planning
MajorClarity is a career exploration platform that links academic learning to post-secondary preparation through a personalized, student-driven approach to career planning that reflects the unique strengths, abilities, interests, and long-term goals of each child.
In addition to this platform, we use a simple assess and explore strategy to help students learn more about design career and opportunities.
Assess: Identify things that you are passionate about or peak your interest.
Explore : Learn more about the areas that reflect your interests and skills. Talk to people who do those jobs. Search online for information to help you understand the tasks of such jobs.
Research: Once you have settled on one or more fields of interest, conduct some research. This process
will give you an idea of what you need to do to get to where you want to be. This should include researching what type of education or training you need to obtain a job in that field.
Plan: You are now ready to plan your course of action. What do you need to do to get the job that interests you? Where should you go to school or get training for this type of work? How long will it take?
Each student in Digital Arts & Design creates a career plan in Design I and alters it each year as they have increased their skills and grown as individuals.
