Digital Arts & Design III

Digital Arts & Design III is the third course in the Digital Arts & Design program of study. Applying design skills developed in prior courses, students will expand their creative and critical thinking skills to create comprehensive multimedia projects and three-dimensional designs. Upon completion of this course, proficient students will be able to use industry-standard software to create multimedia projects, web pages, and three-dimensional models. Students will utilize research techniques to plan and enhance project outcomes. Standards in this course also include professionalism and ethics, career exploration, and business and project management. In addition, students will continue compiling artifacts for inclusion in a digital portfolio, which they will carry with them throughout the full sequence of courses in this program of study.

Career Prep for
Design Professions

Digital Arts and Design III students study business and ethics as a design professional. They also work in groups to create a design proposal as though they are working for an agency. By this time, they have multiple projects for their digital portfolios as well. Digital portfolios can be sent to colleges, potential employers, or internship opportunities.

EPSO
Opportunities

Students can begin getting EPSOs beginning in the 9th grade if they take Digital Arts & Design as a focus area. Students will take a certification exam at the end of the year.  They may also participate in dual enrollment through TCAT-Dickson. Many students have graduated with multiple Adobe industry certifications.

Early postsecondary opportunities (EPSOs) include a course and/or exam that give students a chance to obtain postsecondary credit while still in high school. Courses (whether stand-alone or in conjunction with an exam for postsecondary credit) must be aligned to postsecondary standards. Learn more  at tn.gov >
